GST Return Filing Calendar 2024-25: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B & GSTR-9 Due Dates

Complete GST return filing calendar for 2024-25. Know the due dates for GSTR-1, GSTR-3B monthly/quarterly returns and GSTR-9 annual return.

Compliance under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) requires businesses to file multiple returns accurately and on time. Any delay can result in late fees and interest, and can even block your input tax credit. Here is the comprehensive GST Return Filing Calendar for 2024-25 to help you stay compliant.

Monthly GSTR-1 Due Dates

GSTR-1 is the return containing details of all outward supplies of goods and services. For regular taxpayers who file returns on a monthly basis, the due date for filing GSTR-1 is the 11th of the following month.

Monthly GSTR-3B Due Dates

GSTR-3B is a summary return detailing both outward supplies and input tax credit claimed, along with the payment of tax. For taxpayers filing monthly, the due date is the 20th of the following month.

Quarterly QRMP Filers

Businesses with a turnover of up to Rs 5 Crore can opt for the Quarterly Return Monthly Payment (QRMP) scheme. Under this scheme:

  • GSTR-1 (Quarterly): Due on the 13th of the month succeeding the quarter.
  • GSTR-3B (Quarterly): Due on the 22nd or 24th of the month succeeding the quarter, depending on the state of registration.
  • PMT-06: Payment of tax must still be made monthly by the 25th of the following month for the first two months of the quarter.

Annual GSTR-9 Due Date

GSTR-9 is the annual return to be filed by regular taxpayers. The due date for filing the annual return for a particular financial year is December 31 of the next financial year.

Consequences of Late GST Filing

Missing your GST return filing deadlines has a compounding effect on your business:

  • Late Fees: Rs 50 per day (Rs 25 CGST + Rs 25 SGST) for regular returns, and Rs 20 per day for nil returns.
  • Interest: Interest at 18% per annum is applicable on the outstanding tax amount to be paid.
  • Impact on Buyers: If you don't file your GSTR-1, your buyers cannot claim the Input Tax Credit (ITC), which may harm your business relationships.
