What is Udyam Registration?

Udyam Registration is an online, self-declaration-based system introduced by the Ministry of MSME to replace the older Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) and MSME registrations. It is completely free on the official government portal (`udyamregistration.gov.in`).

MSME Classification (2024)

Enterprises are classified into Micro, Small, and Medium based on investment in plant & machinery/equipment and annual turnover:

  • Micro: Investment < ₹1 Crore AND Turnover < ₹5 Crore
  • Small: Investment < ₹10 Crore AND Turnover < ₹50 Crore
  • Medium: Investment < ₹50 Crore AND Turnover < ₹250 Crore
